Assessment
An initial assessment involves a consultation process and observation of your child’s play, task and interactions. This is to identify your child’s developmental strengths and challenges and to help in deciding a therapy plan and recommendations.

​Formal assessments may be completed to support goal setting, monitor progress, and provide a thorough, holistic understanding of a child's development and abilities. Common assessments include functional capacity assessment and sensory profiles.
Therapy
As Natural Insights Occupational Therapy is a mobile service, in person therapy sessions take place in your child’s natural environments such as home, school or in the community. As we strongly value a family centred approach, we limit therapy sessions at school without a parent present. A parent coaching model is often used because it is an effective, evidence-based approach that provides personalised support, helps parents build skills, and improves family relationships and child development.

Telehealth is another effective way to access occupational therapy supports. It offers the same benefits as in-person therapy, with no travel time, easy access from home, and flexible scheduling to fit your family’s needs.
At Natural Insights occupational therapy support can be provided for the following: self-care: toileting, showering, hygiene, dressing,
fine motor and gross motor skills: handwriting, sleep, mealtimes: feeding skills, mealtime routines, emotional development, sensory regulation, life skills: cooking, budgeting, routines, play and social development
Fees + Funding

Our services are billed at an hourly rate of $193.99. This rate is for all services including assessment, therapy intervention and non face-to-face client work. Additional costs may apply for travel.

The following funding options are available:

NDIS Funding: Natural Insights OT are able to see self managed and plan managed NDIS participants
​
Medicare Rebate: The occupational therapist at Natural Insights OT is registered to provide services under the following medicare programs: chronic disease management plan (CDMP). This plan is completed in consultation with your GP and partially funds up to 5 sessions per year.
