About

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy focuses on supporting individuals to improve their skills, participation and independence with their everyday life activities (occupations).

Occupational therapists use a whole person perspective which views each child as a unique individual. At Natural Insights OT we take into account a child's physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development in the context of daily life. This also includes considering factors of diet, sleep, sensory needs and the environment. Making lifestyle changes can be a helpful way to support a child and families functioning and well-being.

A family-centered approach actively engages the child’s family in the therapy process, making sure that the therapy is relevant, supportive, and aligned with the family’s values and goals. Together we create a collaborative, holistic plan that empowers the child and their family to achieve meaningful and sustainable outcomes.

About Me

Hello, I'm Melissa, the occupational therapist at Natural Insights Occupational Therapy.

Since completing my Bachelor of Health Science/ Master of Occupational Therapy in 2017, I have worked with children and adults in both community and private practice settings. My experience has primarily been supporting neurodivergent and developmentally delayed children in the NDIS early intervention setting.

When I am not working, I am spending time with my husband and daughter. As a mum I understand the joys and challenges of family life. My Christian faith is at the core of my work, guiding me to serve with compassion as I walk alongside families in their therapy journey.

I'm looking forward to meeting you!
